Mae Herrera
General Academic Support

Mae is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Texas Christian

University. Since her senior year at Trinity Valley School, Mae has had a passion for helping students thrive. She worked with TedX Youth Fort Worth to help students write and present Ted Talks to enhance their public speaking abilities. In 2020, she worked at Arlington Classics Academy as a middle school math tutor.

Mae’s lifetime passion for mathematics has pushed her to pursue after school clubs and programs. In third through seventh grade she even participated in mathematics competitions on a recreational team. The reason that Mae is dedicated to help others is because she “loves to help students feel a strong passion for learning and help them to excel in their studies.” Ever since she was younger, Mae has been excited about helping others expand their knowledge both in the classroom and recreationally. She spent her summers growing up collecting books on math, biology, psychology, and anything else she could get her hands on, and this passion for learning is something that she wants to pass on to future generations. Mae’s students describe her as patient, and understanding with a strong desire to help others. This allows her to excel at working with children of all ages. In her spare time, Mae enjoys painting and studio art, reading, and spending quality time with friends and family.
