Becca Smith
Academic Adviser
Becca graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University with a B.A. in International Politics and Diplomacy, and a minor in French. After two years working for Teach for America, she went on to earn a Master's of Education, with a focus on Gifted and Talented Education, from Southern Methodist University. In her full time capacity, Becca works for Dallas ISD as an Early College Coordinator. Serving as the liaison between the high school campus and Dallas College, Becca ensures students’ academic success. In addition, Becca coaches teachers at the high school level and assists in operational and administrative duties around campus. These roles have allowed Becca to recognize the importance of building relationships with students before delivering instruction. Becca believes that by teaching students to take ownership of their learning, communicate effectively, and advocate for themselves, they develop the skills they need to be successful in all areas of life.
In her spare time, Becca enjoys traveling with her husband, Carter, biking, hosting game nights, and attending concerts.
