Becca Smith

Academic Adviser

Becca graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University with a B.A. in International Politics and Diplomacy, and a minor in French. After two years working for Teach for America, she went on to earn a Master's of Education, with a focus on Gifted and Talented Education, from Southern Methodist University. In her full time capacity, Becca works for Dallas ISD as a high school English teacher. She also assist in DISD’s Early College program to help students earn college credit while in high school. These roles have allowed Becca to recognize the importance of building relationships before delivering instruction. Becca believes that by teaching students to take ownership of their learning, communicate effectively, and advocate for themselves, they develop the skills they need to be successful in all areas of life. 


In her spare time, Becca enjoys traveling with her husband, Carter, biking, hosting game nights, and attending concerts.
